When I was in high school, there was a pro-life club at my school. I was a part of it my freshmen and sophomore years. However, I didn’t do much besides show up for the monthly meetings. Once I think I showed up for a “Life Chain” event one Sunday in October. But that’s about it. After seeing Unplanned, I decided I had to do something more than just saying “I’m pro-life.” I had to join the pro-life movement. But… Read more »

Today I’m not going to school. Yesterday I stayed late after school making sure sub-plans were just right and everything was good to go for today. Sometimes I hate taking off from work. Scratch that- I usually hate taking off from work. The bright side of making long and detailed sub-plans is that while I’m not in school I’m usually doing something fun. Like how in May I took off to go to my best friend’s college graduation. That was… Read more »

The movie Unplanned changed everything for me. Watching that movie, I knew deep down that I couldn’t just watch the abortion issue from the sidelines. I had to get up from the comfy Cinemark movie seat and do something. I didn’t know where to begin, but there was a phone number that flashed across the screen at the end of the movie along with a message that was something like, “If you or someone you know has had an abortion,… Read more »

A few weeks ago, I published a podcast about my journey into being pro-life. Today, I was reflecting on my journey and realizing that my pro-life journey has returned to the beginning in a sense. Tomorrow starts the fall 40 Days For Life campaign. 40 Days For Life is a span of forty days where people pray outside of abortion facilities. You can learn more about it by clicking here. Tonight my boyfriend and I attended a 40 Days kick-off… Read more »

Hey friend! Welcome to Coffee With Kara! Today we’re chatting about something different than usual- I’m going to be sharing I started getting involved with the pro-life movement. I start off by sharing how my pro-life journey began when I saw the movie Unplanned (more details about that experience here) and how I started tip-toeing my way into the movement. And I’m going to share with you what I’ve been doing this summer to be pro-life. In addition to telling… Read more »

Have you ever wondered why bad things happen to good people? I sure have! Today I wanted to share a bit of my testimony with you. A few weeks ago, I did something I’ve felt scared of doing for years: I attended an auction fundraiser for a foundation that my aunt and uncle started. Okay, so I know that doesn’t sound like a scary thing, but let me explain. Seven years ago, my cousin Cody died from a sudden cardiac… Read more »

I lived with a total of four different girls throughout my college career and was blessed to have an awesome living situation every time. However, I know that not everyone is as lucky as me and have to face tough roommate situations. My final college roommate, Bonnie, has had some, well, hard-living situations and so I asked if she’d be willing to write about her hard roommates and share any advice she has learned with you. So this post is… Read more »

“The day I found you I found my missing piece.” That quote popped up in my newsfeed, attached to a Facebook ad. A company targeted the ad at people in a relationship, and the product had the quote in question written on it. My desire isn’t to bash that company. Thus, I’m going to stay pretty vague and not reveal what the product is. It’s a sweet thought, but I will not be giving my boyfriend a gift that says… Read more »

If you are an incoming college freshman, here’s a word of advice- Just because you were at class at 8 every day in high school does NOT mean it will be “no big deal” to have an 8:00 class in college. Being at high school at 8:00 is not the same as getting up for college classes at 8:00. However, at some point in your college career, you will most likely face the terrible monster of an 8:00 class. Early… Read more »

Last week I saw a preview for the upcoming Bachelorette finale in which Hannah (the bachelorette) said “I’ve been waiting my whole life for my happy ending…” referring to her coming engagement. I disagree with Hannah. I don’t think marriage is my happy ending. Her statement got me thinking and I want to talk about this. In this post, I’m explaining why I disagree with this viewpoint, but I don’t want to bash Hannah in any way. I think this… Read more »
