YOU GUYS MY BESTEST BEST FRIEND IS ENGAGED!!!

I cannot believe it and am experiencing so many conflicting emotions. All of which I’ll probably record later in a blog post… because that’s how I roll lol!

The second my BFF texted me that she and her man were looking at rings, I freaked out and cried because it hit me that this marks the end of an era.

The next day, I got super excited and started looking for engagement presents for her! I ordered several, wrapped them in colorful tissue paper, stuck them in a box, added a “YAY YOU’RE ENGAGED” card and then wrapped it up.

Then, I gave it to her with the strict instructions not to open it until she gets engaged. I wanted her to be able to open it the day she got engaged :)

These are the things I ordered for her and would be great gift ideas if someone you know is getting engaged. :)

Oh, the links in this post are affiliate links, which means if you buy through them I get a few pennies in commission. All of these items are things I ordered for my bestie :) You can see my full disclosure policy here. :)

5 Engagement Presents To Give Your Best Friend

Did your best friend just get engaged? YAY! Here are five ideas for engagement presents you can give her to celebrate her upcoming marriage.

1. “Does this ring make me look engaged?” Coffee Mug

I’ve seen these mugs on Pinterest, Etsy, and Instagram and I just KNEW my best friend would love one after she got engaged!

I chose this particular mug because it is a larger size and because it’s dishwasher and microwave safe. #Priorities.

2. A Wedding Planner/Budget Book

I found this book on Amazon and decided to order it for her because she had mentioned she wants to have a budget-friendly wedding that’s still beautiful. As her maid of honor, I want to assist her in wedding planning in any way I can, so, I thought this book would be a great start! I texted her a picture of the book to see if she’d be interested in it before I ordered :)

3. A “One Line a Day” Journal

Something you should know about me if you’re new here is that I love journaling! My bestie does too, but when I encouraged her to make sure to be journaling about this time in her life, she mentioned she’s been too busy to journal much lately.

So, I thought this cute one-line-a-day journal could be the perfect solution! She can write one or two sentences about her day and then be able to look back on it in the years to come! Yay!

4. For Couples Only by Shaunti and Jeff Feldhahn

I bought For Women Only and For Men Only at a garage sale last year. I quickly read through them. And I think that while they proved interesting to me now, I think they’ll be all the more helpful once I get married, as much as their advice was aimed towards married people.

Since my best friend is now engaged, I lent her my copies of the books. I’m adding this to my engagement gifts list because I think they’d make great gifts.

This is a boxed set of the two books and it’s the best price on Amazon.

5. The Good Girl’s Guide to Great Sex by Sheila Wray Gregoire

Disclaimer- I haven’t read this book yet because I’m waiting to read it when I get engaged. BUT I’ve heard great things about it and it has been recommended to me by various people.

So I’m giving it to my best friend. She’s engaged and I’m a big believer that sex within marriage is something to be celebrated and looked forward too!

Do I think you need to get all of these engagement presents for your best friend?

Eh, probably not. I love giving fun gift boxes like this so I went all out. But you could totally just do one or two of these things.

In fact, is it even normal to give your friends an engagement present?? I have no clue.

But I think it can be a nice thing to do, especially if her love language is gifts.

Other ideas for the other love languages:

  • Words of Affirmation: Write her a note gushing about her engagement and saying how excited you are for her and her fiancé
  • Quality Time: Take her out for ice cream or coffee and ask her how he proposed and listen as she spills the details.
  • Physical Touch: Give her a big hug next time you see her and jump up and down and squeal with her.
  • Acts of Service: Ask her if there’s anything she needs help with right now at the beginning stages of her engagement. If she asks you to be in the bridal party, you’ll have more chances to serve her as well!
