Dates aren’t just for boyfriends and girlfriends.

After all, remember the playdates you went on when you were little? Those were great! Getting together with a dear friend and playing pretend.

Let’s bring back playdates… only now let’s call them “Best Friend Dates.”
Seems more grown up to me. :)

Today I want to share four “best friend date” ideas with you. These ideas are targeted for the summer months, but you can adapt them for any time of year.

Let’s dive right in!

4 Best Friend Date Ideas that are Perfect for Summer

If you and your best friend are looking for fun things to do this summer, here are four best friend date ideas to get y'all started!

1. Ice Cream Dates

Perfect for summer! (Or any time of year if you live where it’s hot like me LOL!)

An ice cream date is the same concept as a coffee date… only you eat ice cream ;)

Ice cream dates are great if you haven’t seen your friend in a while, or you both just want to eat something sweet. This type of best friend date allows you to catch up with your friend and have great conversations and giggles.

{Ice cream} shot this yumminess cuz it was too good not to share ??? #bestiessincewewere7 #bestfrienddates

That moment when you want to try out the new coffee shop, but end up getting frozen yogurt from next door. ?❤

2. Watch the Sunset

There’s just something so calming about watching the sunset. Seeing the gorgeous reds, pinks, and oranges splash across the sky never ceases to amaze me.

So, grab your best friend and y’all go watch the sunset together! Find a local spot where you can clearly see the sky and watch as God paints a picture in the sky.

Suggested locations: Over a lake, the ocean, a pond, a river, a swimming pool, a desert, in a store parking lot, etc. The possibilities are endless!

I prefer watching the sunset over a body of water, since I love water so much. There’s a lake in my town and for my friend and I that’s our go-to-spot.

We spontaneously decided to watch the sunset over the lake last night. It was gorgeous! ❤️ #futureroomies #mouseandkaraboo

3. Get Pedicures

Ah! So relaxing!

Confession: I had never had a pedicure before last fall. And now I totally adore them LOL!

Pedicures are great to get with a friend because you can both relax, share conversations, and end up with pretty toes! Plus, these are great best friend dates for the summer time because you’re wearing shoes that show your toes more often.

4. Celebrate a Random Holiday

Did you know that August 4th is National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day? Neither did I until last summer!

Google “random holidays” or something like that, and pick one that you think would be fun to celebrate with your bestie!

For my best friend and I, we chose to celebrate chocolate chip cookies… and we had a blast! {And I’m totally hoping this turns into a yearly tradition ;) YUM!}

You know you’re besties when you have epic sword fights… With cookie dough… ??? #mouseandkaraboo
