A few weeks ago I wrote a post about how I had been struggling to have a consistent time with God and included a list of ideas I brainstormed about how I could restart my quiet time.  Shortly thereafter, I started searching for quiet time tips and tricks on my favorite researching platform… Pinterest ;) I decided to share the great articles I found with you in case you’d like to be inspired by them too! :) There’s a lot of… Read more »

The summer after I graduated high school, I was constantly on Pinterest looking for college-related tips and tricks. I especially wanted to know what it would be like to be a Christian at college as I knew it was common for people to leave their faiths behind once they moved away from home. The fear of the unknown was strong for me. I had so many concerns and questions that summer, many of which went unanswered until I was there, on campus,… Read more »

The following is a guest post by my friend Bonnie Have you ever liked someone, and wasn’t sure how to go about it? Maybe you’ve thought about going up and talking to him, or maybe you talk to him every day. Maybe you’ve had a crush in the past you did something with your “liking” that you wish you did differently. The good news is, with God, nothing is ever wasted. Not even our mistakes or the things we wish… Read more »

Have you ever gone a really long time without a quiet time with the Lord? Has your Bible ever sat there, unopened, for weeks (or months) at a time? Has your prayer life ever become shallow? *Raises hand.* I’m writing this post today because I need this post. I need to brainstorm some ideas here in this space. I want to be honest about this and I want to hold myself accountable. You see, I started off 2018 strong. I read my… Read more »

I found out in July that I would be student teaching at the same school my mom works at. The day I found out, I made the mistake of declaring in front of the pre-teen girls I nanny for, “It might be confusing having two teachers with the same last name at one school. I need to get married soon so I’ll have a new last name.” To which the eldest girl gasped, clasped her hands together and squealed! “What’s… Read more »

Have you ever placed your identity on something other than God? Personally, I have placed my identity on singleness… but I’m getting ahead of myself. ;) A little more than a year ago, something happened in my life that I had never experienced before: I became someone’s girlfriend. And as I started processing what this meant and the fact that my boyfriend and I were now dating, I realized it was hard for me to think that I was no… Read more »

I usually read nonfiction books very slowly, about a chapter a day. Not so with In Bloom* by Kayla Aimee! I sat down one evening, expecting to just read a chapter. Three hours later I got back up, surprised to see that I had read half the book in one sitting! It’s just that good! This post includes affiliate links. You can see my disclosure page here; thanks for your support! What’s In Bloom About? In Bloom tackles insecurities but in a different way… Read more »

Is it just me, or is looking for a modest swimsuit the WORST?! All the modest swimwear tends to play hide-and-go-seek whenever I walk into a store. Seriously! Swimsuit shopping is terrible! For one, finding a suit that fits well is difficult. For two, finding a modest swimsuit is next to impossible nowadays. However, it is not completely impossible, so stay tuned for my best advice about how to stay modest at the pool. First off though, I want to… Read more »

I’ve been reading Kristen Clark and Bethany Baird’s blog, Girl Defined, for a few years now. When I heard that Kristen and Bethany were writing a new book called Love Defined, I was interested to see what they would say in it. I often find myself agreeing with about 85% of what they post on their blog; I think they are a little bit more conservative than I am when it comes to some things. So I was curious to see what I… Read more »

Wait. What? I tightened my grip on the notebook paper and reread the sentence: “Then my parents told us that we were moving- to Bentonville, Arkansas.” No, no, no! I kept reading Michaela’s letter, feeling numb inside. After the fifth read through, the knowledge that my best friend would be moving hours away finally sunk in. I clutched her letter in my hand, laid down on my side, and started to sob. I couldn’t imagine my life without Michaela. I… Read more »
