Hey friend! Welcome to our first OFFICIAL coffee date :) (AKA- the Coffee With Kara podcast.) Let’s chat about the importance of a weekly date night! My best friend is Catholic. I’m Baptist. And I am so grateful that we are friends and have differing opinions about several things! Quick back story: Michaela and I met when we were 7. I became a Christian a few months after I met her. As we grew up, we occasionally discussed things relating to our faith. Stuff like the differences between priests and pastors, baptism, and “asking Jesus into our hearts” came up. I didn’t really understand the differences… Read more »

Growing up I’d always hear adults say that there comes a point in your life when wedding season comes around and all of your friends marry and start their own families. That point in my life is right now it seems. Or at least, the “wedding season” of my life has begun. Last year alone, I attended eight weddings. This phenomena of having so many people I know marrying all at once has made me feel all sorts of emotions…. Read more »

“Is it sinful to have a crush on a guy?” That is a common question a lot of my blog readers have asked me. My short answer is “No” and “…Maybe…” 1. It is not sinful to have a crush because it is natural to like people. So if you like a guy there is nothing inherently wrong with that. It’s normal. What you are feeling is completely natural. A lot of the girls who have asked me this question… Read more »

Do you ever struggle with the motivation to spend time in God’s Word? Do you ever forget to read your Bible until you’re drifting off to sleep, only to grab it from your nightstand to read a verse or two before sleep overtakes you? *Raises hand* I’ve noticed that the longer I stay away from the Bible the harder it is for me to get back into it. On the flip side, the longer and more in-depth I go into… Read more »

Believe me?   I don’t blame you if you don’t haha!   I keep claiming that I’m starting blogging again, and each time I claim this I stop again.   It’s a horrible cycle. One I want to break out of.   I have 12 more days until I get out for summer.   Once June 1st hits, I’m cleaning off the desk in my room that has been collecting clutter ever since I moved and setting up a blogging-haven…. The story of how I decided to see the movie “Unplanned” Have you ever played the game “Never have I ever?” If not, it’s super fun. It’s a great way to pass the time when you’re waiting in a long line. Basically what happens is- Everyone starts by holding up ten fingers which represent your points. Then, someone says something that they have never done that they think the other people in the group have done. Then they say that statement, and… Read more »

Back in February, I surveyed 150 singles. These were mainly people from the Joy Because Grace Newsletter or from the Blimey Cow Patreon Facebook Group. Today, I’m sharing the results from this survey. I hope you find these results as interesting as I do. Additionally, I hope that if you’re single, these results give you some encouragement and remind you that you are not alone in this singleness-journey.   (Note: Scattered throughout this post are links to articles that I… Read more »

Originally published on June 11, 2015. I love rollerskating now. Which surprises me, because when I was eight or so I thought I would abhor rollerskating forever. You see, I had a very traumatic rollerskating experience when I was eight. The local homeschool group rented the skating rink, and so my family went. I didn’t know how to skate well, so I stayed near the wall. Eventually, the DJ called for a couples skate, and my mom and I started… Read more »

I feel guilty about not blogging. I haven’t blogged on a consistent basis since July 2018. That month I had planned to write a bunch of blog posts and schedule them out for that fall… but then my best friend’s apartment burned down and my focus turned from blogging to being with her during that tragic time. Nothing wrong with that. In fact, I’d be worried if my focus had been on blogging rather than on my friend. However, after… Read more »
