Fun fact about me: I used to HATE cleaning the bathroom. It was my least favorite chore of all time. Mostly because my brother and I kept our bathroom counter a mess and so it took FOREVER to clear off the counter and then wipe it down. Not to mention toilets are gross.

Another fun fact: I’m the type of person who reads the directions on everything. Including toothpaste. And, c’mon, clearly I know how to use toothpaste. 😅

So, of course, little 12-year-old me read the directions on the cleaning supplies I was using when I had to do the dreaded task of cleaning the bathrooms.

Most of the bottles came with some sort of warning like “Don’t breath in the fumes!” and “If product comes in contact with skin, scrub your skin immediately!”

These warnings freaked me out. So not only did I have to clean the bathrooms, I had to clean the bathrooms while holding my breath and being careful not to touch the cleaner with my hands.

Perhaps I went a bit over the top and as I aged I stopped worrying so much about these warnings.

However, when I became interested in essential oils and learning about a natural lifestyle, I was reminded that toxic chemicals that fill our household cleaning supplies.

When I learned that Young Living sells a household cleaner that is plant and essential oil based, I knew I had to try it. Thieves Household Cleaner was one of the things I got in my first Essential Rewards order back in October of 2018.

Supplies:

  • 16 oz Glass Spray Bottle
  • Thieves Household Cleaner
  • Water
  • Citrus Fresh or Lemon essential oil (optional)
  • A funnel

How to Make Thieves Household Cleaner

  1. Open the Thieves Household Cleaner and pour it into its lid.
  2. Pour the capful of cleaner into your 16 oz glass spray bottle. Use the funnel if needed.
  3. Add about 10 drops of Citrus Fresh or Lemon essential oil.
  4. Fill the bottle up with water.
  5. Add the spray cap and gently shake.

And that’s it!

It’s super easy to make and lasts forever because you only use a small amount with each 16 oz bottle! The cleaner is super concentrated which is why you only need such a small amount.
