Have you ever wondered why bad things happen to good people? I sure have! Today I wanted to share a bit of my testimony with you. A few weeks ago, I did something I’ve felt scared of doing for years: I attended an auction fundraiser for a foundation that my aunt and uncle started. Okay, so I know that doesn’t sound like a scary thing, but let me explain. Seven years ago, my cousin Cody died from a sudden cardiac… Read more »

Confession: I have never gone through a breakup. Sometimes I feel guilty about this. I sometimes wish I had gone through a breakup before so I would know how to help others when they go through them. I hate it when I see my friends go through breakups, especially when I don’t know when to help them. One of my best friends has gone through several breakups throughout her lifetime. A couple of weeks ago, she so graciously agreed to… Read more »

A year ago I wrote a post entitled, “3 Ways to Maintain a Long Distance Friendship,” which was basically a long distance friendship survival guide. Today, I want to share what to do before your best friend moves to help prepare yourself for the change. This upcoming December, one of my current best friends is going to move 7.5ish hours away. Not exactly a happy situation in my book. This will be my fourth best friend who moves away. So I have… Read more »

As a forewarning, this isn’t a happy post. But it’s a hopeful post.  Also, it’s a loooonnnnggg post. If you don’t have time, but want to know the gist of what I’m about to say, it’s summed up on my About page.  . . . Today we’re taking a break from the usual routine and I’m going to write a very personal post, because, well, I need to. You see, five years ago today, my 18 year old cousin died… Read more »

Today Courtney of fearlessheartrestlessfeet.wordpress.com/ is sharing her testimony. This is my testimony story. Can I let you in on a little secret, reader? I dreaded writing my story. I have written and rewritten the first paragraph about half a dozen times, deleted it and then rewrote it, took it from a different angle and then deleted it again. I have gone to God, lamented to God and spent time in His word. But this isn’t easy for me and here’s why. A… Read more »

The following is a guest post by Megan of apronstringsandstickyfingers.com The funny thing about your sharing your story is that no matter how many times you do, it still amazes you at how incredible it is. Looking back I can’t believe how hopeless and lost I felt. I can’t believe how empty and broken I was. I can’t get over how God’s incredible love can turn any situation into something beautiful.   I grew up in a Christian family. We went… Read more »

When You don’t move the mountains I’m needing You to move When You don’t part the waters I wish I could walk through When You don’t give the answers As I cry out to You I will trust, I will trust I will trust in You –“Trust in You” by Lauren Daigle Lord, I praise You. Your ways are not my ways, and neither are Your thoughts my thoughts. You have a plan far bigger than I can ever imagine…. Read more »

When the ocean waves crash over and over and over and breathing is impossible, When fog as thick as glue conceals everything around and the sun is invisible, hidden behind the clouds. When the crickets stop chirping and the birds stop singing, And the rain starts pouring and the floods start rising. When the unthinkable happens, and I don’t have words to express immense grief and confusion. All hope seems lost. And as the rain pours the questions start flooding… Read more »

Seasons are beautiful. Each brings new excitement and activities to look forward to. In winter there’s Christmas and New Years and Valentine’s Day and the hope of snow. In spring there’s Spring Break and Easter and wild flowers alongside the road. In summer there’s the Fourth of July and no school and swimming pools and beaches and Vacation Bible Schools. In autumn there’s Halloween and Thanksgiving and football and changing leaves and pumpkins. Each season comes with hopes and dreams…. Read more »
