Dear friend, I feel like I’ve been MIA lately. Oops. I probably feel that way because I didn’t post on Monday, like I’ve been trying to do this summer, and because I didn’t send out an email newsletter last week… But it’s summer, and I have a gazillion things floating around in my head, and so I’m trying to give myself grace. What have I been up to this summer? Well, let’s see now… Recuperating from my mission trip to… Read more »

Two years ago I embarked on my journey through college. It seems odd for me to think about how I’m halfway done, and my university days are nearly over. That means I’m growing up… and I don’t feel old enough to be a grown up yet. Thinking back to move-in day, I remember how scared and nervous I felt as a freshman. I was terrified, and my university was only a 20 minute drive from home. I was scared that… Read more »

Dear friend, It’s been a while since I’ve just sat down and shared what’s been going on in my life with you. So I figured I might as well do that today :) Let’s see, where shall I start? My finals were this week! So that’s been on my mind. Thankfully they all went well and I am DONE with them now! *Throws confetti* My classes this semester were alright. I took… Principles of Literature (which I hated… I had… Read more »

I don’t know about you, but 2015 seemed to fly by! This year was filled with countless adventures and laughter… and some tears too. Some 2015 firsts: First time to go out of the country First time to lead/teach a VBS class First time to go on a cruise First time to be in a car wreck (as a driver) First time to teach Spanish in a school Here is a quick summery of key events in 2015: January: Second… Read more »

This past week was awesome! My best friend, his family, my cousin, and another one of my besties went on a cruise to Mexico. It was my first cruise, and I had no idea what to expect. It was much more fun than I could have imagined, and it was so great to be able to vacation right after finals. Day one: Here we are, about to drive to Galveston. From left to right there’s Paul and Lynn (Caleb’s parents),… Read more »

So, Halloween was lots of fun :) I dressed up in the ceiling fan costume I made last year, and then spent the day helping one of my besties, Bre, make her Halloween costume. She decided to be a scarecrow, and I had a blast stuffing her with straw. While we were at the dollar store buying costume supplies, I stumbled across some foam swords. And got really excited. Because foam swords are awesome. So I bought 3 swords so Bre and… Read more »

Please tell me I’m not the only one with a gazillion things due this month. It seems like I have a project or test or paper or something due every second now. You know that feeling that comes after studying too much? When your brain turns to mush and you can’t hardly think at all? And you try staring 30 ft away to rest your eyes, but it just doesn’t help? This is me right now. Making a massive to-do list… Read more »

I’ve only been back on campus for a little over a week now but that’s apparently plenty of time to have more than a fair share of kitchen adventures. Who knew cooking could be such a learning experience? ;) Basically I’ve learned this week that I’m nowhere near food-blogger status. Oh wells. Maybe someday. Anywho, here are my kitchen adventures from this week. 1. Our first night in our apartment, my roommate and I cooked a frozen pizza. And we discovered… Read more »

Like many students, in my mind the new year starts in August, not January. So, HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! **Throws confetti** My sophomore year is about to begin. Next Thursday I move back on campus- I can’t wait!! I’m so excited to see how my roommate and I decorate our apartment. I’m excited to see all my friends again. I’m excited to be on campus again! I love my university! In the light of this new year, I thought I… Read more »
