The following is a guest post by Hannah of tosharecareandlove.com I was one of those kids who grew up in church. I knew all the songs by heart, went to Sunday School, and was living (and leading) a Christian life, but that didn’t save me. My dad was a pastor, so I had always known about Jesus, and believed He existed. I accepted Jesus into my heart at the ripe old age of 7, and knew in my heart that He… Read more »

This past week was awesome! My best friend, his family, my cousin, and another one of my besties went on a cruise to Mexico. It was my first cruise, and I had no idea what to expect. It was much more fun than I could have imagined, and it was so great to be able to vacation right after finals. Day one: Here we are, about to drive to Galveston. From left to right there’s Paul and Lynn (Caleb’s parents),… Read more »

Have we made an idol of school? Do we bow to it before we bow to our Lord? Do we place our value and worth in the hands of the grade book, instead of in the hands of our loving Father? Sometimes. I don’t think we intentionally worship school. In fact, if you’re like me, the mere thought of worshiping school sounds revolting. Because we have become bored with our classes, school stresses us out, or we just plain don’t like school…. Read more »

Please tell me I’m not the only one with a gazillion things due this month. It seems like I have a project or test or paper or something due every second now. You know that feeling that comes after studying too much? When your brain turns to mush and you can’t hardly think at all? And you try staring 30 ft away to rest your eyes, but it just doesn’t help? This is me right now. Making a massive to-do list… Read more »

I’ve only been back on campus for a little over a week now but that’s apparently plenty of time to have more than a fair share of kitchen adventures. Who knew cooking could be such a learning experience? ;) Basically I’ve learned this week that I’m nowhere near food-blogger status. Oh wells. Maybe someday. Anywho, here are my kitchen adventures from this week. 1. Our first night in our apartment, my roommate and I cooked a frozen pizza. And we discovered… Read more »

Those hard AP classes really do prepare you for college. You may not keep in touch with all of your high school friends, but that makes the two or three you do stay friends with even more special. The first round of tests of the semester is always awful. Community bath isn’t really that bad. Sometimes you don’t have to open the book you bought for the class. So be sure you find your text books as cheep as possible…. Read more »

Starting college is scary. In fact, starting ANYTHING new can be scary, but I think starting college is exceptionally scary because it’s a new chapter in your life. You’re now an adult, and you’re finally leaving the nest. Scary. And once you arrive at college, there’ll be TONS and TONS of new things to experience. Scary… but also exciting. During my final semester of high school, I began to search Pinterest and YouTube for various tips for college freshman. I learned ways… Read more »

I love rollerskating now. Which surprises me, because when I was eight or so I thought I would abhor rollerskating forever. You see, I had a very traumatic rollerskating experience when I was eight. The local homeschool group rented the skating rink, and so my family went. I didn’t know how to skate well, so I stayed near the wall. Eventually, the DJ called for a couples skate, and my mom and I started skating around the rink holding hands…. Read more »

Bittersweet. That’s how I’m feeling right now. My freshman year of college is over. I can’t believe how fast it went by… Seems like just yesterday was move-in day. But it wasn’t yesterday. It was nine months ago. So much has happened during this school year. I’ve learned some, grown some, and made some friends. And I’m going to miss them terribly. When my first semester ended, I was really excited. It was Christmas time, and on top of that,… Read more »

God has blessed me so much by giving me such a great suite-family. I love these girls so much! Over the last semester we’ve gotten super close, and they’re my best friends. We’ve had so many adventures… And we have a fantastic group text going on: I’m so thankful for these girls, and so glad I was able to live with them this past year. I’m gonna miss them greatly over the summer! Totally bummed that this is our last… Read more »
