It’s my first official day of college. I sit at my desk in my dorm room working on a Spanish assignment. Distractedly, I fiddle with my pencil. The college group at the First Baptist Church had passed out fliers for a back-to-school part, and they were going to watch The Lion King and eat ice cream. I really want to go. I love The Lion King. Besides, it’s my first day of college. I should go do something fun. I… Read more »

Those hard AP classes really do prepare you for college. You may not keep in touch with all of your high school friends, but that makes the two or three you do stay friends with even more special. The first round of tests of the semester is always awful. Community bath isn’t really that bad. Sometimes you don’t have to open the book you bought for the class. So be sure you find your text books as cheep as possible…. Read more »

Bittersweet. That’s how I’m feeling right now. My freshman year of college is over. I can’t believe how fast it went by… Seems like just yesterday was move-in day. But it wasn’t yesterday. It was nine months ago. So much has happened during this school year. I’ve learned some, grown some, and made some friends. And I’m going to miss them terribly. When my first semester ended, I was really excited. It was Christmas time, and on top of that,… Read more »

God has blessed me so much by giving me such a great suite-family. I love these girls so much! Over the last semester we’ve gotten super close, and they’re my best friends. We’ve had so many adventures… And we have a fantastic group text going on: I’m so thankful for these girls, and so glad I was able to live with them this past year. I’m gonna miss them greatly over the summer! Totally bummed that this is our last… Read more »

Confession: I’ve been meaning to do a dorm tour all semester… but either I would forget, or be too busy, or my room would be messy… And considering that school ends in a week, TODAY IS THE DAY FOR THE TOUR!! Here we go: So here’s my bed. This comforter apparently was a very popular find at Bed, Bath, & Beyond, as I have seen several other girls with this same bed set. But hey, it’s cute, so oh wells…. Last week I told you lovelies about my university’s revival. Well, I didn’t mention something that I fully believe is a complete God-thing. One of my revival small group leaders teaches a Zumba class here at Not Hogwarts. Zumba. And, unlike last semester, the Zumba classes no longer conflict with my work schedule. *Cheers* I love Zumba. Over the summer, I attended some Zumba classes at a local gym for the first time ever, and I couldn’t believe how fun it was. So,… Read more »

Big. White. Tent. Middle. Of. Campus. If that won’t get someone’s attention, I don’t know what will. (Well, maybe an earthquake, or a new Disney movie, but just go with me here.) But anywho… last week was my university’s REVIVAL!! Revival is an awesome event that takes place in a big white tent, Monday night-Wednesday night. I was totally only planning on going Monday night, as I had other things happening Tuesday and Wednesday… But after the first night I… Read more »

My 2015 Valentine’s Day Adventures! I had a fantastic Valentine’s Day!! This is my favorite one I’ve had thus far. My friends and I got all dressed up and splurged on Valentine-y donuts. Then we went exploring! Later, I met up with another one of my friends, and we enjoyed frozen yogurt and then wandered along the creek. Then, I enjoyed dinner and a movie with mi familia :) Anywho, here’s the photo recap:       Today was a… Read more »
